Improving access to genetics services for underserved populations across the United States.
About us
The National Coordinating Center for the Regional Genetics Networks (NCC) works with the seven Regional Genetics Networks (RGNs) and the National Genetics Education and Family Support Center (Family Center) to improve access to genetic services for underserved populations. Join us from May 20-24, 2024 for the fifth annual Public Health Genetics and Genomics week! NCC accomplishes this mission primarily through genetics and genomics education and genetics policy education. Efforts include developing and maintaining the ACMG ACT Sheets, Genetics Policy Hub, and Interpreting for Genetics training program. Additionally, the NCC develops tools and resources to provide support to the public health genetics system. These include our "Find a Genetic Clinic Directory" and Public Health Genetics and Genomics Week. NCC is funded by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) as a cooperative agreement to the American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics (ACMG).

What better way to kick off the 5th annual Public Health Genetics Week that to have a conversation about #PrecisionPublicHealth with my colleagues Caitlin G. Allen, PhD, MPH and Megan C. Roberts, PhD. I hope to see you there for this important and informative conversation! #PHGW #CSHPAtWork
In recognition of Public Health Genetics and Genomics Week, the Center for Strategic Health Partnerships will host a discussion on precision public health. Precision Public Health aims to deliver the right intervention to the right population at the right time. By combining data and considering factors such as genetics, environment, behavior, and social determinants, precision public health approaches can be used to address health disparities and improve population health through customized interventions. Our co-hosts, Caitlin Allen, Ph.D, MPH, and Megan Roberts, Ph.D, will join us to talk about how evidence-based research is advancing precision public health initiatives and how precision big data and technologies can be implemented to improve access to, and reduce disparities in, high-quality care and prevention. Participants include: Mat Edick, Ph.D., Director, Center for Strategic Health Partnerships, MPHI. Caitlin G. Allen, Ph.D., MPH, Assistant Professor at the Medical University of South Carolina. Megan Roberts, Ph.D., Assistant Professor, Director, Implementation Science in Precision Health & Society, Adjunct Assistant Professor, Health and Policy Management at UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy. We welcome anyone to attend this important public health conversation. Attendees can ask questions throughout the session. We look forward to your participation.
