In late December 2021, Michael Staggers, Sr., 76, a retired physical therapist from Keyser, found himself in the throes of excruciating pain. It wasn't until Jan. 3, that his children realized his condition had worsened, and sought treatment at the WVU Medicine Potomac Valley Hospital in Keyser, a pilot site for a telemedicine Intensive Care Unit Program called the Virtual Intensive Care Unit. The program created a direct link to the WVU Critical Care and Trauma Institute team at WVU Medicine J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital and helped save Staggers' life. https://bit.ly/4blWxnm
