Hey golf fans! Renown Health Foundation is excited to announce the inaugural Cancer Classic, a golfing event taking place on Monday, Sept. 30 at The Club at ArrowCreek. Hall of Fame golfer Annika Sorenstam serves as the Honorary Chair of this event – which benefits Renown's new Conrad Breast Center, scheduled to open in 2025 at Renown South Meadows Medical Center.    All golf and non-golf sponsors of this event will receive recognition on the donor walls at the Conrad Breast Center and Renown Regional Medical Center, as well as on the event website. Talk about determination in action! During an awards ceremony last Friday, our Trauma ICU team received the Team Daisy award, and our Security was honored with the Care Partner award. Seven nurses and future nurses also received special scholarships supported by Renown Health Foundation, Dr. Jen Richards and the Elvin family to continue their undergraduate or graduate education.    Congratulations to all of the award and scholarship recipients!

The team at Renown Health is pleased to announce the appointment of Anna Loomis, MBA, as our new Chief Financial Officer! Starting in July, she will oversee all aspects of financial management for our health system, including budgeting, financial planning, revenue cycle management, supply chain and strategic investments.    “I am truly honored to be joining an amazing team,” said Anna. “Renown is resilient and strong, and it's clear that Renown cares deeply about its mission of serving the community. Kerry was recently announced as our new Community Health Program Manager.    With her extensive background in public health and community engagement, Kerry brings a wealth of experience to the role. On this Mother’s Day, we want to extend our deepest admiration and gratitude to all the moms in our community and give special recognition to any mom who spent time in our NICU with their precious bundles of joy. Your unwavering love, patience and strength represent exactly what it means to #FightTheGoodFight.    Moms who have newborns in our NICU this Mother’s Day were welcomed with some special items of comfort from two Moms of Preschoolers (MOPS) groups from GRACE COMMUNITY CHURCH OF RENO and Summit Christian Church. As a part of their service project, they put together care packages with gift cards and sweet treats for our NICU moms along with crocheted shawls that, when wrapped around their shoulders, feel like a warm hug.    Today, we all honor your NICU mom journey. Happy #MothersDay!
