Krista Sirois earned her BS in Biology at Washington State University, and received her medical degree from University of Washington School of Medicine. She attended pediatric residency at Levine Children’s Hospital (LCH) in Charlotte, NC. During residency, she completed an advocacy track and global health track and started working with Happy Baby NGO, where she taught the AAP Helping Babies Breathe program to pediatric residents and midwives in Escuintla, Guatemala. She is currently the vice president of Happy Baby NGO.
After residency, she worked as a pediatric hospitalist at two regional sites associated with Atrium Health/Levine Children’s Hospital. In addition to her clinical duties, she remained involved in LCH pediatric residency education and curriculum development. She was involved in several QI and advocacy projects, and initiated a Nexplanon training program for pediatric residents.
Currently she works as a community pediatric hospitalist at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital (an independent hospital serving central Washington) and Skagit Valley Hospital (a regional community hospital associated with Seattle Children’s Hospital). In Yakima, she is the GME site director for inpatient pediatrics.
