Simona is a pediatric resident in the Alaska Track at the University of Washington, splitting her training between Seattle Children’s Hospital and rural primary care in Alaska. Originally from New Mexico, she attended the University of Chicago where she obtained a B.S. in Chemistry. She attended the University of Michigan for medical school, where she became involved in advocacy surrounding gender-affirming care, environmental justice, and rural medicine. She serves as an AAP representative at her residency program, and is passionate about medical education and the many advocacy opportunities in pediatrics.
