Cynthia Castiglioni, MD, MS is a Pediatric Hospital Medicine Attending at Ann & Robert H.Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago and an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. Her clinical practice includes general pediatric inpatient care in the acute care and newborn nursery settings, as well as procedural sedation. In addition to her clinical roles, Cindy serves as Medical Director of a 48-bed general medicine floor and as Sr. Medical Director of General Medicine Services. In 2016, she earned a Masters Degree in Healthcare Quality and Patients Safety from Northwestern University. Her academic interests center around quality and safety initiatives, specifically providing patient-centered care, improving communication, and decreasing variation in care through the development of several Clinical Care Guidelines: Community-acquired Pneumonia, Febrile Neonate, Eating Disorders, Asthma, The Agitated Patient. She is also involved in numerous operational efforts around patient throughput and the care of behavioral health patients. Cindy is also interested in leadership and supporting women at all career levels achieve their professional goals. She serves as a member of the AAP Section of Hospital Medicine Women in PHM steering committee.
