Dr. Rachel Umoren is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Neonatology and Adjunct Associate Professor of Global Health and Healthcare Simulation Science at the University of Washington where she is Associate Division Head for Research, Director of Research for the Neonatal Education and Simulation-based Training (NEST) program and Inpatient Medical Director for Telehealth at Seattle Children's Hospital.
Dr. Umoren is a graduate of the APA Educational Scholars Program and Advancing Pediatrics Leaders Program. She is the Chair of the Society for Simulation in Healthcare Virtual Simulation Section and is active in the American Academy of Pediatrics serving as a member of the Section on Global Health executive committee and as Program Director for the International Community Access to Child Health (ICATCH) Program. Her NIH and AHRQ-funded research focus is on improving neonatal resuscitation and care practices through simulation education and telemedicine in high and low resource settings.
