The American Academy of Pediatrics Gartner Pediatric History Center (GPHC) is dedicated to preserving and cataloguing historical and contemporary documents and artifacts pertaining to the health of children. It serves as the repository of the archives of the American Academy of Pediatrics, collecting its publications, records of committees/councils/sections, and ephemera. More than 100 oral histories have been conducted and archived. Pediatric artifacts include medical instruments, pharmaceutical ephemera, rattlers/soothers and infant feeders. Special collections include records from the American Pediatric Society and the Society for Adolescent Health and Medicine among others. This center provides a resource for anyone interested in the history of child health issues and pediatric medicine.
