Heidi Szugye, DO, IBCLC, FAAP is a board certified general pediatrician and pediatric hospitalist. For the last 9 years she worked as a pediatric hospitalist at Cleveland Clinic Children’s in various settings including tertiary care, inpatient acute rehabilitation, nursery, and community. She currently practices as an outpatient Breastfeeding Medicine Specialist, serving as the founder and medical director of Cleveland Clinic Children’s Breastfeeding Medicine Clinic. She works with and mentors medical students, Pediatric residents, and Pediatric Hospital Medicine fellows. She is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and currently serves as a Problem Based Learning Instructor for the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine. She is involved in a number of quality improvement and research initiatives surrounding Breastfeeding Medicine and created a Breastfeeding Medicine resident curriculum.
