Nasuh Malas is a triple board trained physician with a background in pediatric medicine and child and adolescent psychiatry. He received his residency and fellowship training at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. He received his medical school education and Masters in Public Health from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers and completed his formal Training of the New Trainer (TNT) in 2012 with over eight years of experience in providing and teaching motivational interviewing. He is an active member of the Michigan Child Collaborative Care Telepsychiatry Program. He is active locally, regionally and nationally in clinical care, research, education and advocacy relating to integrative care, psychiatric consultation in medical settings. He has specific interest in neuropsychiatric disease, somatic symptom and related disorders, delirium, and the evaluation and management of psychiatric illness in medically ill youth. He is closely involved in trainee wellness and mental health education including development of a novel debriefing and wellness curriculum. He is engaged in quality improvement efforts, clinical pathway development, local and national lectures and workshops to promote psychiatric care in medical settings. He has numerous publications in consultation psychiatry and other related areas in pediatric medicine and child and adolescent psychiatry.
