Dr. Emilee Colella Lewis is a pediatric hospitalist in the UNC Children’s Division of Hospital Pediatrics and an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine. She completed her medical education at the UNC Chapel Hill School of Medicine and her residency training at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, DC. After residency she joined the faculty at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center as a pediatric hospitalist and an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine and the Quinnipiac School of Medicine. She returned to UNC in 2020 to lead the development of a new pediatric hospital medicine program at UNC Rex Hospital as the Medical Director of Hospital Pediatrics and Chair of Pediatrics. She has now transitioned to UNC Children’s Hospital and is the Medical Director of the Children’s Short Stay Unit. She has special interest in hospital administration, program development, systems-based improvement, and evidenced based clinical care pathways.
