S4311: The Hidden Opponent: Mental Health in Young Athletes

Mental health issues have been steadily increasing, including concerns among young athletes. This session will review the “sports culture” and difficulty identifying mental health concerns in athletics, including unique stressors for young athletes, teammate, coach, and parental interactions and expectations, as well as the difficulties brought on by injury and recovery.
