Approximately 1 in 200 newborns in the United States has congenital CMV infection, and 10-20% of breast milk-fed preterm infants will acquire a CMV infection before NICU discharge. This session will review the epidemiology and clinical manifestations of, and diagnostic options for, neonatal CMV infection.
