Sleep disorders are common in the pediatric population. Pathologic hypersomnia determined to be narcolepsy is now recognized to be about 1 in 2,000 persons, with onset routinely seen in childhood though the diagnosis is often missed. Diagnosis & current treatment strategies for sleep disorders in children and adolescents will be discussed.
