Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine

The Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine is a global organization of medical doctors with over 1,000 members whose mission is to educate and empower health professionals to support and manage breastfeeding, lactation, and human milk feeding in order to achieve healthier lives worldwide through excellence in the medical care of breastfeeding and lactation. We curate, support, and share high-quality research and innovative solutions and strive to ensure that professionals are enabled to support and nurture families with safe and effective care. 

The Academy offers over 35 protocols and statements with evidence-based research on breastfeeding topics such as mastitis, physiological infant care, and substance use and breastfeeding. New this year are parent handouts with essential and evidence-based information, available in tear-off pads and posters.  

Membership includes a free on-line subscription to the journal Breastfeeding Medicine, reduced registration fees for ABM International Annual Meeting and educational webinars, access to a member-only community, and Special Interest Groups.
